Keep your eyes open for old office chairs on casters. The bottoms make great bases for a play stand and the price is right! Here we found one along side the road put out for trash pickup. |

First, remove the old chair seat and back and leave it for the trash pickup. |

The base of the chair is what you will be starting with to build the stand. |
Cut a piece of PVC pipe to fit
over the central post where the chair used to sit. If there is
no central post, you can make one out of a dowel. The PVC will
prevent your birds from climbing down and can be spray painted
brown or green.
WARNING! Be careful to use non-toxic paint without any metal contents. |
A suitable branch can then be found (use only parrot-safe trees) It is very important to make sure the branch is well balanced. You can add additional branches to fill out the stand and rope can also be used. |

Food cups can be attached by drilling holes slightly smaller than the bolt attached to the cup holder. |
Also keep your eyes open for an old snow saucer or other suitable piece to use as a catch basin. A hole should be drilled into the bottom piece and then slipped over the central post before putting the PVC onto the post. |
