Alongside 7 sulcata tortoises and one very proud female iguana, 15 aquatic turtles are permanent reptilian residents at the New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary and will occupy our new Reptile House. A 13x13 indoor turtle pond is being created for our little swimmers by Natural Elements by Design of Rhode Island. This extraordinary indoor habitat will boast a natural stone faced masonry base, biological wetland filtration system, a waterfall for aeration, temperature controlled water, pools for swimming, ample basking areas, natural driftwood and stump elements, and varieties of both edible and decorative land and water plants.
